Consistent Methods

At Alder, consistent methods are used across the maths curriculum to ensure students have a smooth 5-year journey, even if they have different teachers in different years. These chosen methods are based on the best available research in the field of mathematics education.

A series of videos have been produced to support students and parents alike with independent learning. Parents often comment ‘Maths was taught differently when I was at school’, so these videos are designed to ensure parents are aware of the methods used in lessons in order to confidently support students at home. These can also be used by students for revision before assessments.
